Rainbow City

Dear Reader,

Last Friday, the 26th of June, I got up and got online. I was greeted by some Facebook posts, the first of which I saw were vague, but I started to see what they were all about. Then, I saw the news story that made me gasp, cover my mouth with my hand in shock, and sent shivers up and down my spine. The Supreme Court had ruled that gay marriage was now legal in all fifty states. I logged onto Twitter. Hashtag "lovewins" was trending, referring to the Supreme Court decision that had disturbed me to my core. Thankfully, I follow a lot of Catholic pages on my Twitter, and these fed my sagging, sad, and disappointed spirit with inspiring images and phrases which I proceeded to share on my Facebook page.

As the day progressed, I processed this information. Later, I logged onto Facebook again. "Oh goody," I thought to myself very sarcastically, "everyone's true colors are showing." That's right, I'm talking about those very obvious rainbow filters showing up over an alarming number of my friends' profile photos. These friends were displaying their support of gay "marriage" and marriage equality. I put marriage in quotation marks in that last sentence because marriage is an institution between one man and one woman, and no court decision is going to change that. Gay marriage and heterosexual marriage (sad we have to make that distinction now) are not equal. For you see, one is marriage and one is a distorted semblance of marriage.

I listened to EWTN radio, and I received some inspiration from this source as well. This crush to the Catholic world is disappointing, but this battle is not over. Not yet. Read Revelation and you'll see who wins. Spoiler alert: evil, lies, and the embracing of perverted pleasure doesn't win in the end.

Keep up the faith, and stand up for what you know is right. If you don't know what's right and what's wrong, inform yourself. If you think that gay "marriage" is okay and something to be celebrated, you are incorrect. I tell you this as your sister in Christ who cares about your soul.

Welcome to Catholic Paradigm!

Dear Reader,

Thank you for visiting this blog. I am not new at blogging per se, as I have another blog I have been keeping updated sporadically since 2012. I am certainly not a professional blogger. However, I have quite an extensive background in writing. I survived Seton Home Study School, which those of you know who have followed this curriculum that it is rigorous in the writing discipline, among all other disciplines that are equally as challenging. To give you an idea of how hard it was, to those of you who have not experienced the phenomenon of Seton personally, I found the writing in my college-level courses to be incredibly easy compared to my high school assignments. Besides writing for my own personal blog, I have also written two songs which have been sung at Masses. I write poetry and stories, none of which have been published. Perhaps someday I will go that direction. For now, I am trying to reach the masses with the message that I have. My other blog is really a smattering of different topics, and I felt that I needed a place in which I could post (and rant) my views on the current and past happenings in our culture and society through a Catholic lens, or paradigm. Hence this new blog.

Again, thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for my next post which will cover the Supreme Court's very recent decision that has upset (and/or overjoyed) our country.

Your sister in Christ,
Stephanie
